We recently purchased a new sail on our Ericson 38, and the sail cover could no longer fit/fasten around the new, bulkier sail! Not only that, the original cover left a couple feet exposed at the end of the sail.
Instead of creating a completely new one (time and money, plus the waste from getting rid of the old one), a friend suggested making extenders that attach to the existing snaps, and then I added a couple feet to the end of the boom cover.
I even made these with my ‘heavy duty’ Singer sewing machine - before I got my Sailrite machine!
